RBI to cut rates by 25 basis points by mid-year - Reuters Poll

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is likely to cut rates by 25 basis points next quarter, according to a Reuters poll of economists. 

Further, a slim majority or 30 of 54 economists polled by Reuters expect the easing to occur before the national election, scheduled in May. 

The central bank slashed rates by 25 basis points yesterday and changed its stance to neutral from calibrated tightening.
