Wall Street closed mixed as the Dow oscillated but closed down
FXStreet (San Francisco) - The US stocks market closed mostly up on Thursday but the Dow posted losses after oscillating in between red and green in the second part of the session.
The S&P 500 closed its best week in nearly 9 months and the Nasdaq extended its pull back from the 3,415 level. Corporate earnings and upbeat economic data fueled investors' confidence.
The Dow Jones declined 16.31 points or 0.10% in the day to close at 16,408.54; the DJIA rallied 2.38% in the week. The S&P 500 advanced 2.54 pts or 0.14% to finish at 1,864.85; 2.71% up in the week.
The Nasdaq won 9.29 points or 0.23% to 4,095.52; The Composite was 2.39% positive on the week.
