AUD/USD falls to 9-day low

FXStreet (Córdoba) - The AUD/USD broke below the 0.9330 support area and accelerated losses to a fresh 9-day low, weighed by stocks decline in Wall Street.

Despite better-than-expected jobless claims figures, US stocks came under pressure Thursday after disappointing earnings from Google and IBM. The AUD/USD that was resisting above 0.9330, finally surrendered and fell as low as 0.9320 in recent dealings. At time of writing, the AUD/USD is trading at the 0.9325 area, recording a 0.46% loss on the day.

AUD/USD supports & resistances

In terms of technical levels, the AUD/USD could find immediate supports at 0.9300 (psychological level) and 0.9285 (20-day SMA), while resistances in case of bounces are seen at 0.9347 (10-hour SMA), 0.9389 (Apr 17 high) and 0.9423 (Apr 15 high) ahead of 0.9460 (Apr 10 high).

USD/CHF extends gains above 0.8800

The USD/CHF bounced from 0.8775 and rose back above 0.8800. In the last hour, on the back of a strong US dollar across the board, reached a fresh daily high at 0.8825.
